Tasmanian electricity transmission and distribution company TasNetworks needed to transition diverse applications into a single platform, following the merger of two separate electricity supply organisations in 2014.
TasNetworks engaged Cisco from a networking and server perspective, and NetApp from a storage perspective. They decided to standardise on SAP modules across the business with FlexPod units across two sites, using MetroCluster with Commvault® data protection software. This solution has given TasNetworks a seamless, integrated platform with employee self-service that has enabled them to improve customer service delivery, realise performance and availability improvements and reduce their data center footprint by 75%.
