Delivering efficient cloud solution for Indonesian businesses with full control
Jakarta, 20 August 2019—NetApp announced its collaboration with Equinix and Alibaba Cloud through Indonet, their partner in Indonesia to address demands and challenges from enterprise customers to simplify and automate IT Infrastructure or build a true modern cloud from the ground up, with modern platforms and even simplified cloud - native capabilities for their digital transformation journey. The collaboration connects NetApp® Private Storage (NPS) for Cloud, Alibaba Cloud and Platform Equinix® , allowing businesses in Indonesia to get the freedom and flexibility to run their application or workload and gain full control of their data across the multicloud platform. It will also help them address data management challenges such as secure netwo rk, latency, performance and data sovereignty compliance, as stated in the Government Regulations Number 82 (GR82) that the electronic system and transaction implementation for public services are required to host their data in Indonesia.
IDC has estimated that by 2020, 30% of Indonesia’s enterprises will use multiple cloud services and platforms1. Thus, the challenges for enterprises and organizations are to adopt multicloud strategies to maximized cloud computing capabilities while at the same time, manag ing their own assets. Prior to the announcement today, NetApp Indonesia has conducted a test case on NPS for Cloud in Indonesia with Alibaba Cloud and colocation on Platform Equinix, providing full data control to customers. The test case showed a far lower latency result with the network latency amounted to 0.39 ms and disk latency (with SAS setup) of 1.4ms2.
